Master Degree Bridging Program in U.S. with INTO George Mason. Continuing education and selecting the right graduate program after completing an undergraduate degree is not supposed to be a difficult process. However, in USA, it is not easy for students who graduate from a 3 year bachelor degree to continue to graduate degree. Universities in the USA commonly accept a 4-year bachelor degree as the prerequisite for applying graduate studies.
To help overcoming the problem, INTO George Mason University offers a bridging program that will help students to continue their education to Master’s degree and choose the best study program.
In the first semester, students will take classes to prepare their master’s degree while completing general education requirements needed for graduate school at George Mason. This Bridge Pathway Program includes Graduate coursework required for the specific degree programs, graduate transition preparation, and English writing development.
Students will complete the bridging program in two semesters and they will earn 9 credits transferable into the main Master’s program. Students will need to take another 21 credits to earn a Master degree. Total duration of the study is about 2.5 years.
To apply for this program, students have to complete their three-year undergraduate degree or equivalent. A minimum GPA of 2.75 based on the applicant’s country/institutional scale is also required. The Bridge Pathway Program requires a minimum IELTS™ overall band 6.5 (6.0 minimum sub-scores in reading and writing) or a TOEFL®iBT minimum score of 85 (17 minimum sub-scores in reading and writing). Prospective students are not required to submit their GMAT®/GRE® score, but for progression into the Master’s degree, GMAT®/GRE® is needed. Students will get tutorial course on GMAT®/GRE® during the bridging program for free.
INTO George Mason offers 26 Graduate Pathway Programs that participate in the Bridge Pathway Program. Students in the Bridge Pathway Program receive personalized academic advising to help them choose the best classes that will complement their studies. At the end of the program, INTO George Mason pathway students should be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English, to read, comprehend, and critically evaluate academic texts and problems, and also understand research, reference, and citation standards for American academic papers. They will earn academic credits that can be transferred to their Master’s program and then progress to a George Mason University graduate degree program upon successful completion of a Pathway program.
