Double Degree in MFREM From Saxion University & Greenwich University. Saxion University of Applied Sciences in Netherlands is a public university with a history of development over 100 years. It is located in the East of the Netherlands on three campuses, Deventer, Enschede and Apeldoorn. Saxion has come to be recognized as an important center of expertise at regional, national and international level.

The quality of education at Saxion is monitored by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science, as well as being accredited by several international bodies, assuring that the programs on offer are of a high standard.

Its Master Degrees are recognized throughout the world, one of them is the Master Facility and Real Estate Management (FREM). The twelve month full-time course during Facility and Real Estate Management program at Saxion University of Applied Sciences are offered to a group of international students, along with a number of Dutch students.

The Master Facility and Real Estate Management (MFREM) raises students competence to an academic level. It is intended for students who are aiming to fulfil a role at management or policy making level or who want to manage complex projects.

The program is aligned with the real world of work and is regularly updated based on the most recent scientific insights.

Students attend a wide variety of lectures, given by academic staff and experts working in the Facility and Real Estate field. After completing the master program, graduates will be experts in Facility and Real Estate Management at strategic management level. They will be qualified to work as housing advisors, facility managers or as real estate managers.

After successfully completing the course students will receive two master degree certificates (double degree):

  • the master degree in Facility and Real Estate Management from Saxion MFREM
  • the British Master of Science in Facility and Real Estate Management MSc from the University of Greenwich UK

Beside that, Saxion offers an excellent opportunity to expand students work experience and professional skills and to broaden their chances on the Dutch and international job market through the Saxion Connect International Traineeship Programme. Saxion Connect Program offers talented graduates trainings, workshops and Dutch lessons free of charge.

Saxion has more than 3,500 international students of more than 70 different nationalities making the institution the third largest when looking at international enrolment at universities of applied sciences. At present students taking Saxion’s programs come from over 89 countries as diverse as Indonesia, Germany, India, Norway, China, Taiwan, Russia, Brazil, Rwanda, Japan, Bulgaria, Poland, Lithuania, Vietnam, Romania, and Turkey, to mention but a few.

In the end of 2016 Saxion launched the platform Into Saxion to support prospective students getting in touch with other Saxion students and experiencing how it is to study in the Netherlands.

The Keuzegids HBO 2017 ranking placed Saxion of the 6th place in the Netherlands among large-sized vocational institutions. The university also became 6th in the Elsevier ranking 2016 in the category of broad universities of applied sciences.
