Scholarships of up to £3000 will be awarded as a one-off payment in recognition of academic excellence to overseas students starting an undergraduate degree in September 2019 in one of the following departments at the University of Sheffield: Aerospace Engineering, Automatic Control & Systems Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil & Structural Engineering, Electronic & Electrical Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, MEng Engineering.

The scholarship amount awarded is dependent on academic achievement, qualification equivalent to A levels: A*AA - £1000, A*A*A - £2000 and A*A*A* - £3000. Departments will confirm equivalences.

To be eligible for an Excellence Scholarship you must:

• make The University of Sheffield your first (firm) choice in the UCAS application process for 2019 entry
• apply to study a full-time undergraduate programme in the relevant department
• be classed as an international student for tuition fee purposes
• be taking all prerequisite subjects for your selected degree
• not have studied at the University of Sheffield International College

Scholarships of up to £2000 will be awarded as a one-off payment in recognition of academic excellence to overseas students starting an undergraduate degree September 2019 in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Sheffield.

The scholarship amount awarded is dependent on academic achievement, qualification equivalent to A levels: £1000 for A*A*A including an A* in maths, £2000 for A*A*A* including an A* in maths. 

To be eligible for an Excellence Scholarship you must:

• make The University of Sheffield your first (firm) choice in the UCAS application process for 2019 entry
• apply to study a full-time undergraduate programme in the Department of Computer Science
• be classed as an international student for tuition fee purposes
• be taking all prerequisite subjects for your selected degree

The scholarship amount awarded is dependent on academic achievement:

£1K to each applicant who achieves an overall 70% - 79.9% and meets all our entry criteria (i.e., B in EAP, minimum of 70% in Maths, and minimum of 60% in all the other modules). Then a further £1K per academic year subject to maintaining a >70% overall average mark in the previous academic year.

£2K to each applicant who achieves an overall 80% - 84.9% and meets all our entry criteria (i.e., B in EAP, minimum of 70% in Maths, and minimum of 60% in all the other modules). Then a further £1K per academic year subject to maintaining a >70% overall average mark in the previous academic year.

£3K to each applicant who achieves an overall >85% and meets all our entry criteria (i.e., B in EAP, minimum of 70% in Maths, and minimum of 60% in all the other modules). Then a further £1K per academic year subject to maintaining a >70% overall average mark in the previous academic year.

• International Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2019

50 x 50% scholarships for undergraduate study. The 50% discount will be applicable to each year of study (subject to students achieving a 60% average).

• International Baccalaureate Undergraduate Merit Scholarship 2019

5 x 50% scholarships for applicants who have previously studied or are currently studying an International Baccalaureate.

• International Postgraduate Taught Merit Scholarship 2019

100 x 25% scholarships for postgraduate study.

How do students apply for a merit scholarship?

They will be invited to apply for merit scholarships through an application form via MUSE for applicants. They will not need to complete an application form for the International Undergraduate Scholarship or the International Postgraduate Scholarship

• International Undergraduate Scholarship

10% tuition fee discount to international students joining the majority of our undergraduate degree courses. The 10% discount will be applicable to each year of study (subject to students achieving a 60% average).

• International Postgraduate Scholarship

10% tuition fee discount to international students joining our postgraduate programmes from selected regions.
