Founded on the belief and understanding that higher education is vital to the progress of the country, Sunway University  opened in 1987, as Sunway College; in 2004, the College was upgraded by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education to a University College and in January 2011, it was upgraded again to Sunway University.

This ever growing reputation was recently propelled to even greater heights as, Sunway University, was awarded the internationally acclaimed QS 5 Star ratings for Teaching, Facilities and Employability. This pioneering spirit of Sunway has seen the University rapidly become one of the nation's flagships education providers.

Working closely in partnership with world-class institutions such as Lancaster University and Le Cordon Bleu International, the university offers premier education with International standards. Most of our programmes come with an internship component that helps open doors for Sunway graduates to successfully bridge the gap between student life and the working world.

The joint degree programme with the former grants students two academic scrolls, one from each university, while the partnership with the latter sees its international hospitality management and culinary management degrees accredited by the famed global institutions for culinary education.

Sunway Group is investing RM350 million in a brand new state-of-the-art university building has been ready for occupation in early 2015. The new campus building is equipped with excellent facilities and infrastructure to support 21st century higher education, catering for a variety of learning methods.
