Nouva Academia di Belle Arti Milano (NABA)
Italy
NABA, Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, is a private academy founded in Milan in 1980 by Ausonio Zappa, with the involvement of Guido Ballo and Tito Varisco. With campus in Milan and in Rome, NABA is the largest art academy in Italy. Since 1981 NABA is legally recognised by the Higher Education in Art and Music system (AFAM, Alta Formazione Artistica e Musicale), regulated by the Ministry of University and Research (MUR). NABA was founded with the aim of challenging the inflexibility of the traditional academic world, introducing new visions and experiments. It is an academy that is evolving by looking to the future to perceive the signs of change, welcoming the diversities of the contemporary world. Not just a place of education guiding students to create their professional identity and personal expression, NABA is also a place of production, enabling students to experiment a plurality of experiences, thus acquiring independence in design, empowering them to consciously position themselves within the design scene and the international professional system.NABA's educational path offers a continuous succession of multidisciplinary experiences that produce research and design in artistic and professional contexts, in line with the most contemporary trends and in the name of a dynamic and innovative culture. NABA promotes research and the generation of new and innovative content through complex projects and diversified languages according to cultural areas of reference: a connection between creativity and its application, thanks to artistic production and application in business productions. In 2023, for the third year in a row, NABA has been selected as the Best Italian Academy of Fine Arts in the Top 100 worldwide in Art & Design field in the QS World University Rankings® by Subject.
